    1. A fact about me is that I dislike and resent super prescriptive setups for development at a given company. (ie a directory location where repos must be cloned, prebuilt rc files that overwrite one’s own preferences, etc)

    I’m not saying there’s zero value in _providing_ these things, but they should be set up in a way that works with a new hire, not against them.
