      1. Tonight I decided to go through my movie library and watch something I’ve never seen before. In recent months I’ve had a policy of picking movies that have >= 50% women on the cover. I’m generally content to ignore for new releases, date night, whatever. But this week I’m alone.

Being that I’m totally undecided and not seeking anything out, I’ve added a couple rules: - no romcoms (no hate, just too much of a shoehorn) - no movies driven by two women *fighting over* a man or centered on straight people in a relationship swap

I’ve definitely noticed a pattern in the movies that fit those criteria. Opera, horror, “girl” in the title of a movie about an adult woman, Bond girls, wow a lot of horror, teenagers.

Huge, massive disclaimer that, again, this is _my personal movie library_ and only the movies I haven’t seen so I’m not necessarily extrapolating it to the whole of movies. But the pattern as I was scrolling became REALLY clear.
