      It’s 1942! I could have sworn the gameplay style came from a space game, but Wikipedia doesn’t seem to think so. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1942_(video_game)

        I’m currently going through all the games on my new arcade cabinet and taking notes, including a “variation on” column because there are only so many gameplay mechanics in games from the 70s and 80s.
