  1. This is always my starting point with teaching (usually older) folks about trans and non-binary people. Their pronouns aren’t there to annoy you, and they aren’t there for attention. When you inevitably screw up someone’s pronouns, don’t make a fuss. Fix it and move on. @zkat__/1423666583746977792

      This is a subset of the people I have spent time teaching how to (truly) apologize. Pronouns are perhaps the exception to Laurie’s excellent guidance here. Likely the best way to show you’re sorry is a quick “excuse me, they” & continuing the conversation. @seldo/766426940106481664
