              1. Oh hey everyone, guess what?! I'm hiring at Braintree. I'm hiring a LOT. I'm looking for client-side (iOS, Android, JavaScript) and server-side (JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Java, PHP, C#) developers. For the latter, esp interested in anyone who knows 1 & is interested in the rest.

What would you work on? SDKs! We build the SDKs merchants use to integrate with Braintree, PayPal, and more. SDK teams speak for the developer, with lots of power to influence product decisions in the name of DX. Rn we have a wide variety of both legacy and green fields code.

We pair program, and we're darn good at doing it remotely. We first shipped our primary internal tool for the purpose almost 6½ years ago. Every other week we have "Open Dev Day". Work on a pet project, or write a talk, or do some open source dev, or whatever else interests you.

My team is remote-first, currently distributed in US Central & Pacific time zones. PayPal (Braintree's parent company) has "untracked" PTO, which I push everyone to take advantage of in the form of days off as needed and contiguous weeks regularly.

I could talk forever about all the aspects of my team and our work that make me proud, but maybe I'll cut myself off and just provide some links. I have openings at most levels so even if you're "over- or "under-qualified" please do apply! boards.greenhouse.io/braintree/jobs/3343964?gh_jid=3343964

I'm delighted by the responses & signal boosts so far, ty all! 😍 If you like variety, this is a great job to jump on. Especially the generic "software engineer" positions. When I first started on this team I never thought I'd be able to say "I write 10 languages" within a year.

Hello again everyone, I'm hiring engineering managers at Braintree! You'd be managing the team(s) that work in the environment I described in this thread. I'm looking for people aligned with our core values: Ask Why, Care A Lot, and Solve Together. @gesa/1420894121317724163?s=20&t=4wboJQbYQO_IQp_chUlF2Q

We value cooperation over competition, we hold our leaders accountable, and at the end of the day we close our computers and forget about work. Time off is "untracked" (though I require some minimums), role is remote-friendly, teams are spread across US time zones.

If you're unsure if this is a role you could enjoy or be successful at, please shoot me a message. DMs are open, ask away. Little asterisk: managing SDK teams in the past is a plus, but not required. I'm most interested in people management skills, everything else can be taught.
