Black lives matter

I just heard about the protestors taking the precincts in MSP and setting up mutual aid camps and it was just the light the world needs. (I’ve been spending my evenings in a blur of migraine)

If you’re going out to protest oppression, state-sponsored violence, and institutional racism, keep each other safe. crimethinc.com/2020/05/28/minneapolis-we-have-crossed-the-rubicon-what-the-riots-mean-for-the-covid-19-era

Brush up on your street medicine and, as @EmilyGorcenski has been stressing, don’t pour anything in your eyes but clean water! This book on riot medicine is free, learn you some riotmedicine.net/downloads

White people: talk to white people about racism. Seek out the people in your lives tut-tutting at the “looting” and help them unpack the racism in that angle, in their assumptions, and in our entire society.
-
If you need help unpacking the news right now, if you want to ask what you fear is a foolish racist question, pop into my DMs. Or another white friend’s. Just whatever you do, don’t make a friend of color take on that education work rn. (I may delay response. Migraine.)

Black friends: this shit is traumatic and I see you and I love you.
